Swollen Vessel/ Double Bubble, 2012
Blown glass
30 x 35 x 30cm
26 x 30 x 30cm

“When I began working with hot glass, I was captivated by its fluid elasticity. I sought to capture these qualities in my work in order to explore ideas about the human body that have inspired me.

The resulting works are a series of ambiguous, flesh coloured blown glass vessels evocative of male and female sexuality. Formed indirectly and uncontrollably through the hot glass blowing process, these works reference the containing nature of our body and skin, often subjected to physical change that underpins beauty and fragility.” – Jessica Lloyd Davis
